Policies & FAQs

  • Non-emergency cancellations require a 24 hour advance notice prior to the scheduled session. Cancellations made past the 24 hour window and no-shows will result in the billing of the full session fee.

  • In order to protect my client's personal and confidential information, I have chosen not to accept insurance. This allows my clients and I to work together without restrictions imposed by insurance companies as to the number of sessions we may have or the modes of therapy we may use. If you have insurance through a PPO, they may pay for therapy sessions with an out-of-network (OON) provider such as myself. If so, I will provide you with a monthly statement that you can present to them for reimbursement (or to apply to your annual deductible). If they do not cover the full cost of the services with which I provide you, you will be responsible for any balance due to me.

To review your out-of-network provider insurance policy, I recommend you look at your providers website to review your policy. Most carriers will walk you through it step by step and provide you a form to utilize.

  • I make sure to keep a few spots open for sliding scale clients based on need. Currently my sliding scale clients are full, but if you are interested please feel free to ask and I am happy to check my availability or help point you in a better direction based on your desired fee range.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
